ABOUT US
We started distilling and steeping during 2020 COVID lockdowns. During the isolation, Peter started to experiment with different botanical profiles. After a discussion with Chris, they agreed to source some sloe berries, which proved hard to come by, until they stumbled across a lady named Angela who had sloe hedgerows on her property in Tasmania.

We believe our Laneways Sloe Gin is a first of its kind in Australia. This Australian made gin combines the best of both worlds: the traditional style of the English 'Sloe' gin with the berries of Tasmanian autumnal blackthorn tree, which grows wild in Tasmania and is foraged from rural hedgerows and thickets. The trick? Each sloe berry is painstakingly pricked multiple times to release its full potential. The sloes are then steeped in our locally made dry gin and we let time ‘weave its magic’.
With so many gins now in the marketplace, our ‘Flowers of Alphington’ gin, will need to be able to differentiate itself through our use of locally sourced botanicals. It’s an artisanal and sophisticated gin that should be positioned to those gin drinkers wanting to trade up from the big 4 gins. We want to establish a gin-slingers attitude, to attract gin drinkers who veer away from mainstream brands, are attracted to our bespoke gin, who have a knowledge of gin.
